Corporate Communications Unit

Introduction

The Corporate Communications Unit (UKK) is responsible for implementing the corporate communication strategies of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH). The UKK plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of accurate, transparent, and effective information to all stakeholders, including ministry staff, media agencies, and the general public.

This unit also manages media relations, publicity, promotions, internal communications, image management, and the overall branding of the MOH, in line with the government's principles of administrative openness and transparency.

Vision

To be the leading authority in health communication, characterized by integrity and effectiveness, in strengthening the image and reputation of the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

Mission

To empower inclusive, responsive, and people-centric corporate communication strategies that support the national health agenda and build public trust in the services of the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

Objectives
  • To deliver health information and ministry policies accurately, swiftly, and in a manner easily understood by all levels of society.
  • To increase public awareness regarding health issues and the role of the MOH.
  • To strengthen strategic relationships with the media and stakeholders to enhance the ministry’s reputation.
  • To manage crisis communication effectively to safeguard the credibility of the MOH.
  • To reinforce internal communication to boost morale and ensure the alignment of messaging among MOH personnel.

  • Providing media responses and official statements within 24 working hours of receiving a request
  • Managing and coordinating media coverage requests in an organized and professional manner

  • Disseminating official MOH information via digital platforms and social media accurately and ethically

  • Ensuring all client interactions are handled in a friendly, prompt, and responsible manner

  • Preparing corporate communication materials (posters, videos, media statements, etc.) within the stipulated timeframe based on program and event requirements
